Nearly 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the state, generating powerful gusts topping 109km/h.

Homeowners observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, approximately 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the region, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
